3DVIA Composer hits the market
6 December 2007
Dassault Systemes (DS) has released its new desktop content authoring system, 3DVIA Composer V6R1. The release follows DS's recent acquisition of Seemage, and features product enhancements, simplified packaging and global availability in all DS sales channels.
"Following the acquisition, 3DVIA Composer maintains openness, enabling companies to exploit data from all of their information systems," said Chris Williams, general manager of enterprise products applications for 3DVIA at DS. "3DVIA reinforces the DS commitment to deliver solutions that leverages the reuse of product IP across the enterprise."
"We were already successfully using Seemage in our technical documentation department and for after sales use to produce rich illustrations for the dealer network. Now we are investigating how to extend 3DVIA Composer to new users who would leverage 3D product data in presentations and reports to facilitate business decisions," said Jean-Luc Perrard, R&D IT vice president at PSA Peugeot Citroen.
3DVIA Composer V6R1 enhances prior releases with important new features, including enhanced animations and views; support of ellipses in 2D vector graphics; innovative rendering capabilities; improved performance for large assemblies; and functional tolerancing and annotation improvements.
