Lebanese telephony provider Actel Communications is using Derdack’s solution to deliver mobile messaging solutions to its clients across the Middle East.
Actel Communications is one of the leading providers of value-added telephony services in the Middle East. It currently operates through five subsidiaries in Lebanon and has direct connection with 17 operators in the region. Actel has built a reputation for innovative, stable and dependable mobile messaging solutions and demands the same standards from its suppliers.
The market for mobile services in the Middle East is growing strongly and demand for new solutions that exploit the mobile channel is high. Competition is fierce but the revenue streams from non-voice services such as SMS and MMS messaging is increasingly seen as the key to generating greater profitability and customer loyalty.
With such an attractive market opportunity, Actel needed a mature and robust mobile messaging platform for SMS and MMS that it could rely on to provide the backbone for innovative new services it would offer to clients.
In order to cope with current and planned demand levels, Actel’s chosen platform had to operate heavy load SMPP connections to mobile operators, connectivity aggregators and customers. It also needed to provide capabilities for failover and persistent messaging.
Actel selected message master xsp from Derdack, as it had a proven reputation in the market and was already in use as the engine behind value added services in over 50 countries. message master xsp is used as a centralised and reliable SMS and MMS messaging platform for Actel’s mobile messaging business.
message master xsp is an extensible mobile messaging platform that enables new SMS and MMS services to be developed and allows greater innovation for those companies with existing services.
Actel is able to design and operate a range of mobile services for media channels, network operators, banks, corporate and government institutions. Key applications include information distribution, marketing programs, promotions, entertainment, customer support and mobile transaction solutions.
Actel has gradually migrated all of its value-added services onto message master xsp. The platform is currently the core of over 50 value-added services including SMS-to-TV-services, content-download applications, breaking-news services and SMS subscription services.
To achieve high-performance SMS throughput, the company is using message master xsp to operate eight direct mobile operator SMSC connections and 25 connectivity aggregator links in parallel. The platform has also been integrated with numerous custom applications.
