Alchemy emerges from Fujitsu

The support team within Fujitsu will remain the backbone of Alchemy

The purchase of the legacy modernisation products and associated business unit from Fujitsu Computer Systems has resulted in the formation of Alchemy Solutions. The newly established company, which provides technology solutions that help organisations integrate legacy applications with the latest Microsoft Windows technologies, has also secured the distribution rights for the Fujitsu NetCobol line of products outside of Japan.

Alchemy Solutions established the distribution agreement with Fujitsu to support its goals of growing the global NetCobol compiler business in conjunction with its newly acquired legacy modernisation products.

“We are pleased that Alchemy Solutions will continue the distribution of NetCobol in the global market,” said Akira Yamanaka, corporate vice president and president of the software unit at Fujitsu. “We are committed to continue to invest in the development of NetCobol and look forward to working closely with Alchemy Solutions to expand the business. The creation of Alchemy Solutions as an independent entity strongly positions the company as a market leading provider of legacy modernisation solutions targeting Microsoft’s .NET Framework.”

Alchemy Solutions will also continue to support all current NeoKicks, NeoBatch, NeoSort, NeoData and NetCobol customers, distributors and resellers of Fujitsu Computer Systems. Support processes and policies for the Neo products and NetCobol will not change, as the present support team within the Fujitsu organisation will remain the backbone of Alchemy Solutions.
