Clear promotion for Anglia stores
13 December 2007
Anglia Co-op has installed Toshiba ST-71 PoS hardware with Toshiba dual-screens in its seven most recently acquired Westgate Department Stores. The technology allows customers to view information about special offers and promotions at the till.
"The twin screen has provided us with a cost-efficient and effective way of introducing advertising and special promotions to our customers," commented Mark Kelby, Anglia IT infrastructure manager. "They enable us to create greater visual impact at the counter and help to improve the customer experience".
The Westgate Department Store Group is now able to display store-wide advertisements and special promotions, such as its 'Blue Cross Sale', as well as run promotions specific to each department on individual tills. The improved brightness of the TFT technology means that the wide-viewing screen can be viewed from almost any angle and is readable even in direct sunlight.
Anglia also selected Toshiba's wireless connection card option for half of the touch screen tills, allowing the company to use them as mobile units. This means the tills can be moved around the store or switched to any of its other stores during special promotions or in response to seasonal fluctuations.
The new tills are also easy to use, so training has been minimal: "Not only is staff training easier, the Toshiba tills are very easy to use and incredibly reliable, making it much quicker to serve customers" said Amanda Bonsor, cookshop manager at The Westgate Department Store.
