Diskeeper releases new real time defragmenter
24 October 2007
Diskeeper has announced the launch of Diskeeper 2008. New features include the ability to defrag in extreme levels of low free space or the highest levels of file fragmentation. An 'Intelligent defrag' capability chooses which software engine will ensure the most performance gains on a given system or environment. This is all done transparently, in real time, by using the full power of otherwise unused idle resources with an advanced background processing technology called InvisiTasking.
Other key features include Frag Shield 2.0, which automatically prevents crash-inducing fragmentation of critical system files. Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) compatibility mode leverages the data protection of VSS with the performance and reliability benefits found from defragmenting. The Disk Performance Analyzer for Networks in the Administrator Edition provides real-time performance metrics on-demand or emailed automatically. The I-FAAST 2.0 (Intelligent File Access Acceleration Sequencing Technology) automatically boosts access speeds for the most frequently used files by between ten and 80 per cent.
