16 February 2011

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 is now available for download, both on premise and hosted.
Key upgrades to the Microsoft customer relationship management (CRM) solution include the ability to access the solution through an Outlook interface, enhanced business intelligence capabilities and integration with the Microsoft technology stack.
Benoit de la Tour, vice president, Dynamics, EMEA, Microsoft Business Solutions told OnWindows: “What is unique to Microsoft is the integration of Dynamics CRM. The high level of integration with the productivity tools that companies are using internally comes with our product. Another strong differentiator is the business intelligence capabilities. We are offering access to real-time information, which is something our customers have been expressing a lot of interest in.”
We have a very compelling power of choice between online and on premise deployment. There are no hidden fees in what this solution offers, everything is included, even the storage space
Benoit de la Tour, Microsoft For the first time ever, the technology company released the cloud version of a solution before the on premise version. With a single multitenant code base online and on-premise, companies can choose which parts of their systems they want in the cloud and which they want to keep on premise.
Microsoft has also announced that 150,000 users can now use the system concurrently, which highlights how the company is increasingly pushing deployments of the CRM solution in enterprise environments.
CRM is a key focus area for Microsoft in 2011. According to Gartner, overall spending on CRM software will reach more than US$12 billion in 2012.
De la Tour added: “Dynamics CRM is unique in the area of flexibility, as well as price. We have a significantly lower base price than Salesforce.com or Oracle. We also have a very compelling power of choice between online and on premise deployment. There are no hidden fees in what this solution offers, everything is included, even the storage space.”
Existing customers with active Microsoft Software Assurance agreements can access the new version immediately via the Microsoft Download Center.
The Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace, which enables partners to market and distribute their solutions, is also now available in 20 markets.
