Automotive component supplier Electronic Motion Systems (EMS) has recently installed Microsoft Dynamics NAV with help from Anglia Business Solutions.
EMS supplies control modules and systems for power conversion and electric motor drive markets. Its products include motor controllers for automotive steering, cooling fans, and generators as well as DC-DC converters and power modules. The company is headquartered in South Wales with additional locations in Canada, Germany and India.
The project, valued at £300,000, and completed in just four months, was a 55 concurrent user single phase deployment of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The end to end supply chain solution covered Financials, Inventory, Warehouse Management and Manufacturing. It also included a state of the art integrated warehouse mobility solution designed to provide real time stock information.
Speaking about the project, EMS general manager, Rolf Dahlmanns said: “EMS needed to replace an ageing and expensive-to-run legacy system with a single company-wide solution which was fully integrated across all areas of our business. We had a real problem with data duplication. Some of our key business processes such as MPS and MRP were reliant on information held in various repositories outside the core system. Now we have a single integrated solution to manage all of our processes. This provides easy and efficient access to management information on how the business is performing.
“Most of our requirements were met using standard out-of-the-box Microsoft Dynamics NAV functionality. This meant that the solution could be deployed in the four-month timescale and within budget. The training provided by Anglia means that our users quickly embraced the new solution and we are already seeing the benefits”.
Commenting on the success of the implementation, Anglia’s commercial director Robert Frost said: “Implementing a completely integrated end-to-end supply chain and leading edge mobility solution in four months and within budget is a significant achievement. It is a tribute to the Anglia and EMS personnel that worked together in partnership to deliver such a successful project.”
