3 October 2013
Microsoft partner Eurostep is to supply the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) with an updated version of the FREJ product data system.
MIMER is based on the Share-A-space and product lifecycle solutions (PLCS). It will replace FMV’s existing FREJ88 system and help to improve the organisation’s IT infrastructure and reduce operational costs.
This is one of the biggest orders we have received and acknowledges the power of the PLCS standard and Share-A-space
Eurostep The MIMER system will have more than 1,500 users, store more than 1.7 million products and will be integrated with more than 20 systems, including the Swedish Armed Forces’ SAP system.
“This is one of the biggest orders we have received and acknowledges the power of the PLCS standard and Share-A-space,” said Håkan Kårdén, CEO of Eurostep Group. “A replacement for FREJ88 has been discussed for a long time and we are proud to be selected for this very important task in modernising FMV’s IT environment and significantly reducing operational costs."
Kårdén added: “This decision is in line with the FMV PLCS policy from 2005, as well as recent investments to establish PLCS ed2 as the standard for collaboration with industry around product data.”
