Figlo helps Dutch ‘bank of tomorrow’

Knab, a bank which has just opened in the Netherlands and has been described as the ‘bank of tomorrow’ is using all the standard features of Figlo Platform from online cashbook to detailed financial planning.

Knab presents all of a customer’s financial information in a single, clear financial dashboard – even if that information is held with another bank.

It is the first time that customers can use this complete overview themselves to easily produce their own financial plan online. They can view their current financial situation and see their financial future. The information can be accessed via a mobile app as well as via the website.

The support provided by Figlo during the development of Knab was limited to 0.2FTE, which allowed Figlo to focus completely on generic product development.

The bank makes banking matters easier and more personal and offers customers the long-awaited complete overview of and insight into their financial situation

For Figlo this launch also represents an important milestone which proves that financial institutions can configure and implement the platform to their own requirements fully independently.

Knab has been launched from the belief that banking can be better, easier and different. “Knab is a bank but on the other hand it is customer driven. Knab is completely transparent, also when it comes to charges,” said founder René Frijters. “The bank makes banking matters easier and more personal and offers customers the long-awaited complete overview of and insight into their financial situation.

“We consciously decided not to employ any sales advisers ourselves and to work instead with independent financial experts. We audit their quality and customers can also rate them. In this way our clients receive the advice that is best for them rather than what is best for the bank,”

The sign up procedure takes just two minutes via the website, and there’s no need to visit a branch. It is also possible to try the online financial plan in advance via ‘try financial plan’.

A number of specialised partners from the financial, ICT and online marketing sectors worked closely together to build Knab, each contributing their own expertise. The bank’s website is based on the CMS from Sitecore, which is linked to Matrix, the mid-office solution from Five Degrees.

The Figlo Platform is used for the online cashbook (personal finance management) and for financial planning.

Thaler, the software from Callataÿ & Wouters, is utilised to manage the payment traffic.

Finally, the project management for the realisation of this innovative and revolutionary bank project was undertaken by ICT service providers Cegeka and Virtual Affairs, who also developed the website, the My Knab environment and the mobile app.
