Fujitsu Siemens runs innovation contest

Fujitsu Siemens Computers is holding an online innovation contest focusing on ‘IT Services for Tomorrow’s Data Centre’. The contest, ending on 6 June, will address issues of strategic business importance to users, helping the leading infrastructure provider anticipate which services will be required in the future.

The aim is to bring together ideas from interested users, developers, consultants and computer scientists regardless of how much experience they have in an original and exciting manner to inspire as many innovations as possible.

Richard Schlauri, executive vice president for infrastructure services at Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) and sponsor of this contest, explains: “We see this Innovation Contest not as a one-time initiative, but as an ongoing contribution to our innovation philosophy.”

The initial stage of the contest consists of peer evaluation, meaning that participants have the opportunity to interact and evaluate the ideas of others in the innovation community before the final evaluation is made by a team of FSC experts. Once all the contributions have been judged, the experts will award prizes to the best ideas, the lucky person who takes first prize receiving €5,000  in cash.

Other prizes include FSC notebooks. The contest has been created with the help of HYVE, a Munich-based consultancy specialising in customer centred innovation.
