28 July 2010
Microsoft is currently rolling out the new version of Hotmail to customers globally. So far more than 100 million people are using the new Hotmail with and the company expects the deployment to be completed within the next week.
This is according to a post by Mike Schackwitz on the Windows Live blog.
“This deployment was complex, but it has been one of the smoothest in Hotmail history,” said Schackwitz. “We know many of you have been anxious to get the new Hotmail for your own accounts ever since we announced the new features, and we appreciate your patience and your feedback.”
The technology company began the rollout of the new Hotmail in June, as reported on OnWindows.
Once the deployment is finished, Microsoft will start preparations for the release of Exchange ActiveSync for Hotmail. This will enable users to sync e-mail, calendar, and contacts with a mobile phone and is expected to take place before the end of the summer.
