Joe Gibbs Racing deploys 3D software

NASCAR organisation, Joe Gibbs Racing has licensed Siemens PLM Software’s D-Cubed software for integration in specialty applications.

The D-Cubed 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (DCM) will now be deployed in any in-house software application that requires a 3D geometric constraint solving component. The software is already integrated in NX software, which Joe Gibbs Racing continues to use for all aspects of product development.

“Licensing this software further strengthens our successful relationship with Siemens PLM Software, which already supplies NX and Teamcenter for our digital product development and lifecycle management processes,” said JD Gibbs, president, Joe Gibbs Racing. “Their portfolio of applications and components enables us to deploy the optimum combination of off-the-shelf end-user products and customised in-house applications to fulfil our demanding range of requirements. We settled on the 3D DCM because it offers the best functionality, performance and quality.”

“D-Cubed 3D DCM is already integrated into applications used by upwards of one million end-users for assembly constraints, kinematic simulation, 3D sketching and the direct editing of part shapes,” said Joan Hirsch, vice president of Product Design Solutions, Siemens PLM Software. “Custom applications in any of these areas can now be rapidly developed at Joe Gibbs Racing based on the world’s most widely deployed 3D geometric constraint solver.”

The D-Cubed components support Microsoft Visual Studio.
