Leighs Paints modernises supply chain
31 October 2008
TXTDemand should lead to greater consistency in supply chain performance
TXTDemand, part of the TXTPerform Supply Chain Management suite has been selected by Leighs Paints to further increase its supply chain efficiency.
The new partnership with TXT e-solutions, a strategic enterprise solutions vendor, will help further improve Leighs Paints’ supply chain by enhancing its demand planning, forecasting capabilities and customer satisfaction.
Leighs Paints, an international manufacturer of high-performance coatings and passive fire protection products, has worked on large projects such as London’s St. Pancras International rail station and the Forth Rail Bridge, which required high-quality products. TXTDemand, built on Microsoft’s SQL Server platform, is expected to help improve forecast accuracy for raw materials as well as for finished products by bringing all of the forecasting inputs and variables into one platform. This should lead to greater consistency in supply chain performance without a heavy reliance upon inventory.
“This project is the continuation of Leighs Paints’ modernisation of its supply chain with the goal of achieving a world-class standard and turning those advantages into real customer benefits,” said John Bewicke, Supply Chain Director of Leighs Paints. “I believe TXTDemand will provide us with a tool to greatly help our demand planning and forecasting capabilities that will not only improve our bottom line, but also further build upon our reputation for excellent service.”
