The Northdoor software will handle policy and claims administration

The newly-launched Lloyd’s of London operator WR Berkeley Syndicate 1967 is using Northdoor’s N-DEX suite of insurance underwriting and messaging solutions to support its operations. N-DEX has recently been redeveloped using the Microsoft .NET Framework.

The syndicate started its underwriting operations on 1 June. The Northdoor software will handle policy and claims administration, credit control and transaction processing, as well as monitoring contract certainty and providing a view of risk performance. It also helps the syndicate comply with the regulatory information requirements of Lloyd’s and the Financial Services Authority and to comply with market messaging standards – including supporting the Electronic Claims File, electronic placing and endorsement requirements of the Market Reform Plan.

David Ballard, consulting services director of Northdoor said: “Upon deciding to launch a new syndicate, speed of systems development can be critical to the launch date.
