Metalogix enables SharePoint migration
18 May 2010
Metalogix Software, one of the leading providers of solutions for Microsoft SharePoint migration, management, and archiving as well as Exchange migration and archiving, has released SharePoint Site Manager 2010 (SSMM).
Metalogix SSMM 2010 is the first solution to offer ease of use with the robust capabilities of Windows PowerShell. SSMM 2010 with PowerShell scripting enables organisations to rapidly and flexibly transition content from their existing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2003 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 to SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint Foundation.
SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 offers gradual/granular migration support with no service pack or hardware prerequisites. It allows SharePoint administrators to define when specific content is migrated and they can use it to re-organise and re-template SharePoint sites and lists easily as they migrate.
Metalogix SSMM 2010 is the first SharePoint migration solution to allow users to capture any migration or content management task as a reusable script, which can then be customised using PowerShell.
“The community is excited about SharePoint 2010 and Metalogix provides organisations with an upgrade path that is easy to use and supported,” said Chris Risley, CEO Metalogix. “As the first SharePoint migration and management solution to leverage SharePoint 2010 support for PowerShell scripting, SharePoint Site Migration Manager 2010 enables administrators to tackle complex migration and deployment scenarios in an efficient, repeatable and automated way either through our familiar user interface or a command line. They can get up to speed quickly and with no training.”
“Metalogix is a trusted Microsoft Partner with proven expertise in supporting complex migration scenarios,” said Arpan Shah, director for SharePoint at Microsoft. “We are pleased that they will be enabling our customers to more easily take full advantage of the SharePoint 2010 platform.”
