Microsoft practices what it preaches

Working with global IT services business Wipro Technologies, Microsoft has implemented its own Dynamics AX enterprise resource planning solution across its Microsoft Business Solutions division. The project involved a global implementation serving 242 countries through five locations across the world, and has lead to standardisation and harmonisation of business processes across the organisation.

“We are happy to have partnered with Wipro in this critical project,” said Klaus Holse Andersen, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for MBS sales and operations. “The project has been a success. We are seeing significant productivity increases in managing revenue deferrals, royalty payouts and credit and collection processes.” The project has also ensured standardised processes and controls to help enforce compliance, including regional regulatory invoicing mandates.

The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX has meant that key finance and credit and collections data is now available real-time and in a single source. Sangita Singh, Wipro’s senior vice president for enterprise application services said: “The success of this transformational project is a testimony of Wipro’s deep understanding of Microsoft’s business and our strengths on the Microsoft suite of business solutions; we will continue to invest in building these capabilities for the future.”
