Cellebrite has announced a list of top trends in mobile forensics that will shape the year ahead.
One major prediction is that the need for mobile forensic tools providing support for Windows 8 will increase in the New Year.
From the increasing use of mobile evidence to challenges stemming from the rise in tougher encryption methods, there are a number of areas that will demand the attention of mobile forensics profession

- The continued rise of bring your own device
- Devices that provide the ability to extract critical data stored in apps
- Mobile devices and the data they contain will take centre stage in both civil and criminal investigations in the year ahead
- Malware on smartphone platforms and tablets will increase exponentially
- The regulatory and legislative landscape will remain uncertain
- Data breaches via mobile will rise.
