New e-commerce solution from Motive
14 August 2008
British developer Motive Technology has released a new version of MotiveShop, its e-commerce solution for the retail sector. Developed using Microsoft ASP.NET and deployed using SQL Server 2005, Motive says the package enables retailers to maximise e-commerce revenues by giving content-rich product information to customers, extending sales reach and increasing conversion values.
MD Andy Derrick said: “Those retailers still relying on disjointed systems for high street and online sales channels are suffering increasingly untenable costs, significant stock and price inaccuracy and are unable to deliver key customer services – such as reserve online and collect in store. With MotiveShop, retailers now have the opportunity to integrate on and offline sales by driving online purchasers into stores to collect their goods, thus providing another opportunity to sell. It therefore becomes crucial to ensure consistency of message across all channels in terms of product information, availability, price, product delivery and returns.”
He added: “Retailers are now putting their online sales channel centre stage, as high street sales continue to fall. However, to achieve substantial sales growth and the best customer experience, retailers must ensure effective multi-channel integration. From the use of digital marketing for customer acquisition to cross and up-selling techniques boosting average customer value, the multi-channel strategy requires that the retailer can adapt in real-time to market conditions, and therefore it is critical that its technology infrastructure can support this.”
