Numerix expands, installs Microsoft HPC

Numerix, an analytics provider for derivatives and structured products, has continued its expansion across China with the opening of a new sales office in Beijing. This follows the opening of two other sales offices in Australia and South Korea earlier this year.

The company has also implemented Numerix Bloomberg Edition and Numerix CrossAsset SDK running on the Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008 at Samsung Securities, a leading South Korean investment banking and brokerage firm.

Samsung Securities is one of more than 30 new clients Numerix has signed to its Asian client roster in 2010.

“The expansion of our presence in China to now include Beijing is a natural progression for Numerix and we are pleased to be in a position to provide permanent local support for our clients,” said Numerix president and COO, Steven R. O’Hanlon. “Our commitment to the APAC marketplace goes back more than a decade and the growth of the Chinese derivatives markets has been surpassed by the growth of Numerix. I am confident in our firm’s continued ability to grow and to meet the strategic pricing, analytics and risk management needs of our clients in China and across the entire Asia Pacific region.”

The company has also signed the first Numerix asset management client in Japan to use Numerix CrossAsset for pricing and risk management and partnered with the largest consulting and IT consulting firm in Japan – Nomura Research Institute.
