European IT services giant Fujitsu Services has announced that its B-Pad is the first Microsoft Windows all-in-one mobile device to be awarded Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.

The B-Pad is a lightweight mobile computer offering multiple functionality, including order processing, mobile payment, stock management and self-checkout. It is widely used by a number of leading retailers including TGI Fridays and WH Smith.

Fujitsu says B-Pad helps retailers deliver increased store productivity and an enhanced shopping experience for customers, and can manage customer transactions from product information requests to stock availability queries, order processing and secure payment. PCI compliance for the B-Pad encompasses both online and offline PIN entry.

B-Pad frees staff from the counter

PCI compliance is awarded by the Payment Card Industry and is a global quality standard designed to help companies processing payments to prevent credit card fraud, hacking and other security threats. B-Pad has been awarded PCI compliance until 2014.
