Preactor helps medical manufacturer
25 November 2009
Preactor International has provided Air Liquid Medical Systems with solutions to improve planning and scheduling at its factory in Antony, France. The implementation will allow the manufacturer to more rapidly generate work orders, synchronise procurement plans with production and better manage manpower.
Air Liquid Medical Systems – formed from a recent merger of Taema (France), Electrocare (India) and Markos Mefar (Italy) – produces medical gas systems tailored to meet the specific challenges of the hospital industry.
The new planning and scheduling solution has enabled Air Liquid Medical Systems to improve the visibility of its factory supply chain, by addressing both long-term planning and short-term scheduling of work orders. This is expected to result in improvements in efficiency and productivity.
“The Preactor solutions allow us to rapidly generate work orders, synchronise procurement plans with production and make reliable and accurate schedules – taking into account all of the resources and constraints of the manufacturing process,” said Mr Domanico, supply chain manager at Air Liquid Medical Systems. “Furthermore, it enables us to better manage manpower, anticipate the availability of components and simulate and compare various scheduling scenarios before commitment. Preactor has a strong expertise in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as many references that were willing to come forward – this confirmed our selection.”
