Retail show line-up revealed
11 December 2007
Over 40 high profile companies will be presenting on topical issues at The Retail Business Show 2008, within three specially designated pavilions: the multi-channel retailing pavilion sponsored by K3; the Internet retailing zone, sponsored by PayPal; and the Vendorcom retail fraud theatre in association with the RSA. The show is to be held on February 5-6, 2008 at London, Olympia.
Jacqueline Gold, the CEO of Ann Summers and Knickerbox, is to headline the speaker programme. Her presentation, 'Good Vibrations - The Story of Jacqueline Gold' will look at the chain's successful move into multi-channel retailing and its lead in the revolution to 'bring sex to the High Street'.
Other notable event speakers include Mary-Louise Ter Bek, environment manager at McDonalds, who will present the findings of a recent pilot to experiment running the chain's fleet on its own recycled cooking fat, and Charlie McMurdie, head of e-crime at New Scotland Yard, who will describe the new e-Crime unit and how collaboration with the retail sector is critical to bringing e-criminals to justice.
"Each year, our speaker programme attracts charismatic speakers whose presentations inform and motivate the audience," said the organiser of the show, Paul Bessant. "In an industry that is ever evolving, being ahead of the game when embracing new technology is crucial for success, making this show a date on the calendar that should not be missed."
Running in conjunction with The Retail Business Show will be Screen Expo Europe, the leading event for digital signage, media networks and interactive technology and content, which is organised by Screen Events, a division of Retail Events.
