Schuitema selects .NET solution

Schuitema, the second largest Netherlands food retailer with 439 supermarkets and a turnover of 3.3 billion euros, has selected solutions from JDA Software's space and category management suite to help achieve precision merchandising through tailored, demand-driven assortments and streamline execution, optimising space and category management initiatives.

Having used JDA's Space Planning by Intactix application for seven years, Schuitema licensed JDA Software's Intactix knowledge base, floor planning, efficient item assortment and space automation solutions, leveraging the Microsoft .NET platform.

"We selected JDA's Space and Category Management solutions due to its fully integrated capabilities for range, space and floor planning, as well as store execution in order to support a new approach in our business processes. The JDA solutions will help us effectively manage and precisely execute over 2,500 planograms, allowing us to better allocate labour while sensing and responding to consumer demand," said Jaap Verjaal, Schuitema's information technology director.

In addition to tracking store product performance more effectively and reducing the amount of manual intervention and data-management tasks once implemented, Schuitema also looks forward to increasing analysis capabilities at the category management level, providing accurate replenishment capacity and standardising store layout and appearance.
