Silverlight drives innovation for Renault

Microsoft has formed a technology partnership with Renault, uniting the new Laguna Coupé with the latest, second-generation Silverlight technology.

Used for the first time on a car-maker’s micro-site, the Silverlight technology allows visiting customers to explore the new coupé in full 3D-detail.

Silverlight 2.0’s new Deep Zoom feature offers visitors to the micro-site very high-definition photos and video of the Renault Laguna Coupé, as well as zoom capabilities that allow unprecedented detail with no penalty on display speed.

“The Renault Laguna Coupé is an exceptional car with a time-proof design that holds immense appeal to motor connoisseurs,” said Stephen Norman, Renault Group global marketing director. “Consistent with the connoisseur’s appreciation for superlative automotive design, Renault decided to use a Web technology that would enable site visitors to admire the car in great detail.”
