24 November 2008
The solution enables consumers to view descriptions of each of the wines that make up the Fleming’s 100
US restaurant chain Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has selected the Mobile Web Locator from services provider Where 2 Get It as part of its new mobile presence push.
“When designing the mobile platform for the ‘Fleming’s 100', their award-winning list of 100 wines served by the glass, adding the mobile restaurant locator was a strategic extension of functionality designed to enhance the customer experience,” said Greg Kaufman, senior manager of interactive technology at Direct Partners – agency of record for Fleming’s.
The Mobile Web Locator installation means that the Fleming’s site, m.flemings100.com, can now be accessed using Web-enabled handheld devices or mobile phones. The custom solution was built using the .NET framework. It enables consumers to view wine labels and descriptions of each of the 100 wines that make up the Fleming’s 100, menu information, and location search by zip code providing each restaurant’s contact information.
We have earned a reputation as a strategic solutions resource that makes it easy for our clients to work with one vendor for all of their locator needs
Manish Patel, Where 2 Get It “No matter where our guests are travelling, they are now able to find the nearest Fleming’s, as well as the perfect wine to round out their dining experience, quickly and easily,” said Marian Jansen op de Haar, director of Wine for Fleming’s.
The site features a HTML form submission from Fleming’s site back to Where 2 Get It servers which host the search results page. The simple RESTful data submission form was selected for its expediency in getting the project off the ground. The plan is, that future projects will use more sophisticated API solutions from Where 2 Get It.
“We have earned a reputation as a strategic solutions resource that makes it easy for our clients to work with one vendor for all of their locator needs,” said Manish Patel, founder and CEO of Where 2 Get It. “A perfect example of this is how we manage the Web-based locator data for a client like Fleming’s – so it’s an easy and logical transition for us to provide it on mobile devices for them as well.”
