Microsoft has expanded its product, sales and service initiatives with HP. The two companies have stepped up their partnership to help businesses more easily adopt and deploy virtualisation, and to cut costs and improve efficiency in the process.“Microsoft and HP are working together to help customers obtain more value from their Microsoft virtualisation software, HP services and infrastructure offerings,” said Zane Adam, senior director of integrated virtualisation at Microsoft. “Customers and partners are responding well to the clear benefits of the joint solutions and initiatives for desktop and data-centre virtualisation and holistic management.”
The collaboration will include a number of initiatives such as: system interoperability, particularly between Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 and the HP Virtual Connect 10Gb Flex-10 module; performance and resource optimisation in HP and Microsoft systems; and integration between Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V environments and HP System Centre Virtual Machine Manager 2008 to manage advanced platform capabilities.
