WonderWorld global dates revealed
30 June 2008
Wonderware has announced the dates and locations for its 2008 WonderWorld global industry conference series. This year the events are co-sponsored by Microsoft and Mitsubishi Electric, and will kick off 6 October in Las Vegas.
The industry events will be held in seven locations throughout the US, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, with this year’s series theme being: Enabling Innovation for Real-Time Operational Excellence. The conference focus will target a variety of industry topics such as innovative production and software strategies; tactics for manufacturers and infrastructure operations to achieve real-time operational excellence; and effective collaboration strategies involving executives, operations, IT and engineering personnel.
The conferences will also highlight new innovative technologies that can be delivered through the use of Wonderware software solutions for manufacturing execution systems, enterprise manufacturing intelligence, supervisory control and data acquisition and human-machine interface.
“Wonderware is again offering a popular forum for customers, key partners and other industry leaders to share important innovations on how to best approach the continuous drive towards operational excellence,” said Mark Davidson, vice president of global marketing. “Wonderware recognises that operational excellence is not achieved through a single project or initiative, nor is it made possible by one portion of a customer’s or partner’s organisation.
“The 2008 WonderWorld global conference series is designed to provide important, relevant content for each team member with information that is specific to their role in achieving real-time operational excellence – from industrial and manufacturing executives, to operations managers, IT professionals and plant automation and maintenance engineers.”
The keynote speaker in Las Vegas will be Martin Eberhard, co-founder of Tesla Motors, which designs and sells high-performance, highly efficient electric sports cars. Other featured speakers during the various events will include Sudipta Bhattacharya, president of Wonderware; Charles Johnson, vice president of manufacturing industries at Microsoft; and Cindy Jutras, vice president and group director for ERP and manufacturing at Aberdeen Group.
WonderWorld 2008 conferences will be held at the following locations: Las Vegas, (6-10 Oct) for the Americas; Belo Horizonte, Brazil (5 Nov); Avila, Spain (13-14 Nov); Seoul, South Korea (18 Nov); Copenhagen, Denmark (19-20 Nov) for Europe, Middle East and Africa; Guangzhou, China (20 Nov); and Mexico City (19 Feb, 2009).
